I'll go slow, because you must not understand. I promise not to use big words.
I have to post. In my little clan it's required.
Now, since Ezclan, and to wit, Inferno, has nicely offered to host my clan's site.
Now, one of the things that Inferno has dictated, is that if he is going to host your clan's site, he want's you to do soime things. One of thoise things, is to click on banners, so that he can generate money. (I hope I haven't lost you yet).
Now, this is the crux of the arguement. INferno wnat's you to click on a banner. Really, really bad. SO bad, that if you don't, he FORCES a lin to the end of your posts. and it's just not if you EVER clicked on one of the banners, but if you haven't in the past hour. Now, I will admit, he did make it so you didn't have to post on a random banner for SoL. No, he made it convient enuf, so that if we don't want to click on a random banner this hour, we can click on a default. Which leads us to one of HIS FREAKIN SITES.
So, don't tell me it's an "Ethier/ Or " jackass.

Hmm, it only wants me to click an ad every six hours, not every hour. Have you brought this to Inferno's attention that it bugs you each hour?

231 clicks????
that's about double of what should be counted...or am i wrong?
didn't you just list it in a post at the start of last month that you only give credit for 1 click ever 6 hours?
just wondering...

Mickster:
Well To my knowledge it is not to be every hour... You might want to talk to Inferno Personally on that one. I only get it every 6 hours or so.
Taffy:
Well If you read the rules of the contest you would realize that you can do a bit more than that.. :) They are on the main ezclan site if you want to take a look... :P

Just to stick my opinion in there, I think that inferno deserves every penny, if any of you people realized how complicated the sites are behind the scenes(not ooh wow an admin link), I think he is finally starting to get his due for all of the hours he put in to building EZClan and for maintaining it before it was making very much money, I think his dedication to help you people out is exceptional and I's like to thank him

WHy don't you guys use gamerstown then?
I love gamerstown. I have used both sites and I just feel gamerstown is supieor *shrug*
If you dont' like that inferno tries to make you click his banners all the time, convince your alliance to switch to another site that doesn't make you.

mickster... sorry man, but you have no right at all to ask for anything from a private company unless you are a regulating agency or a shareholder of the company. Don't even try the response, "I have the right to ask, and he has the right to refuse" That's BS. It's none of your freakin business and you have no right to ask. It's just plain rude.
No, go run off and not click ads to you can try to get somethin fer nothin just like every other spoiled brat does.

Good point Hoochy. I bet mickster would be a little upset if some stranger from the Internet came on and asked him how much money he made exactly and wanted to know where he spent it at. Inferno has a great site. GT is also a great site. I have noticed lately that both sites have tried to mimick each other to a point to both offer quality service. I am proud to say that I click on an ad every time I am in either site. They deserve to make money for offering us these site FREE. Yes FREE, no charge, not one penny. Mickster, if you are getting the ad thingy every hour, contact site admin (Inferno) and inform them that you are having a problem with your site and I am sure this will be corrected within the next 12 hours. Like to see MP do something this quick. News bug has been around for like what, 4 months.

Funny watchdog groups always ask companies what they are doing, yet individuals are flamed for asking.
Its a simple question, if Inferno doesn't want to answer it then no biggie. Personally I liked E2HQ a lot better than EZCLAN, for one I actually tried to mess up on E2HQ and I wasn't able to. On Ezclan I screwed it up without trying, instructions confused me for some reason.
Anyways just be glad Inferno is offering $1k in prizes, he could just offer gift certificates to a software outlet chain.

he can get close to the same for one click through as he can for 800-1000 impressions

ehh, only because he has that sorta "force to click" thing where he makes us scroll down, he could make it more convenient, and get the same amount of money with impressions, plus, he can only get credit for one click every 6 hours or so... im sure hed make more off of impressions

People,
Getting a little off the path are we? Arguing the finer points of the law I see. ;)
Mick asked Inferno to tell us what his profit margin is.
Inferno refused.
End of discussion.
Mick can ask for anything he wants from anyone.
Inferno can answer or not as he sees fit.
End of discussion.
Mick has some reservations or complaints about the practices that Inferno has control over. He's stated them.
Inferno has the right to agree or disagree, to change policy or not.
End of discussion.
Btw: Mick if Inferno HAD answered I would have been shocked. I know a few business owners and only one has ever told me about his income, that was only after I knew him for almost 16 YEARS and we became more friends then owner/customer. ;)

A couple of points. I do NOT force ANYONE to click on an ad. If you do NOT want to click on an Ad, you can click on an alternate link instead, which takes you to pogo.com, where you can go pop some balloons or something to get over your hostility. Clicking either the LINK or the AD, will set a cookie on your browser, so you can get your signatures and access to the DB, etc...
HOWEVER, IF you click on the LINK instead of the ad, the cookie expires in ONE HOUR. For the AD, it is SIX Hours.
NOW, as to the server issue.. They are NOT virtual domains. You are smart enough to do a WHOIS, then be smart enough to do a PING and you will see they ALL have different IP addresses.
CiHOST is the provider alright, and I use their nameservers cause they are more reliable than ns.ezclan.com... I never said the servers were sitting in my house. Of course they are at some IHP somewhere with a big broad internet connection.
However, they are all different machines which makes it a major pain to admin.
